On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, Raheem Jackson and his sister, Essence Jackson, murdered Steven W Hughes in a senseless act of pure viciousness. Steve was doing his job when this thug opened fire on him and his work vehicle. Steve died from the gunshot wounds. The lower court judge rightfully denied bond and referred it to the Court of General Sessions in Richland County. His bond hearing has been set for Thursday, June 20, 2024.

Due to the senseless actions of the defendant that were nothing but malicious and vicious at best, we are asking that bond be denied and he be held in jail until his trial. We do not feel releasing him would be safe or productive to community. He took Steve's life, his mother's last living child, his daughter's Daddy and supporter, and the beloved friend of many in our community.
