When I was young, I was a victim of abuse. The scars from those days still linger, shaping who I am today. The horrors of abuse leave lasting imprints on survivors, and the memory of Baby Nikita's tragic fate in Eldorado Park has brought back those memories with an overwhelming intensity.

Baby Nikita’s father allegedly committed unspeakable acts, violating and taking the innocent life of his own daughter. This crime took place in the heart of our community, in Eldorado Park, Soweto, a locale that deserves better protection for its children. Our community is in shock, and the pain runs deep.

It is crucial to seek justice for Baby Nikita. Granting bail in such a case sends a dangerous message, undermining the seriousness of his alleged crime and the safety of our community. We are standing at a critical point where we must decide whether we will uphold the value of human life and ensure that justice is served for those who have no voice, like Baby Nikita.

Statistics from the South African Police Service highlight the high rates of domestic violence and child abuse in regions like Soweto. Allowing bail in such cases can contribute to a cycle of violence, putting more innocent lives at risk.
