We would like to urge the government to put and end to the unabated mining activity in the gold-rich area of Balabag in the Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur that has brought enormous damage to the environment. The tunnels dug underneath put some of the residents' lives at risk and the wastes it generates had already poisoned our clear and clean rivers and creek including our fertile farmlands. 

Small-scale and large-scale mining alike should keep their hands off from this "paradise" and to prevent greater damage to our environment.
