The Manvers Rotherham Holiday Inn has become a blight on our charming village. As local residents, we've seen it move from being a source of pride and business to an eyesore plagued by disrepair and protest-related damage. It disheartens us, not just as villagers, but also as people who once saw this establishment as a symbol of growth and development. The recent instances of violence and conflict that have placed both citizens and law enforcement at risk underline the urgency of the situation.

Furthermore, the controversial use of the inn for housing refugees imposed by government decisions has caused further strain. We don't protest the concept of providing refuge. Our concern lies with the manner in which it was implemented, seemingly without the consideration of long-term effects on the community and the existing structure.

In light of these concerns, we propose the demolition of the current Holiday Inn. In its place, the establishment of a hotel that understands and respects our village culture and isn’t subservient to rash decisions by our elected leaders. A hotel that can bring prosperity to Wath with facilities like a conference center, spa, or pool. Someplace we, as a community, can take pride in.
