Gun violence in US has become so commonplace at this point, that 3 mechanisms are critical to keep our schools, communities and people safe:

1. Raising the age of buying firearms from 18 to 21
2. Universal background checks
3. Banning assault weapons altogether, with mandatory buybacks

GOP and NRA gun lobby is not likely to vote for any of these measures. So, this petition is directed to Democrats only.  Democrats currently control the house, senate and the white house.  They can do the following:

1. End the senate filibuster
2. Pass a single act with these 3 mechanisms in the House
3. Pass this in Senate with a simple majority
4. WH signs into law.

Democrats will blame the GOP for not acting, while at this point they have full mandate to do everything on their own.  Let them feel the heat.  If they don't, let us vote ALL of the Democrats out, and give 435 house seats to GOP.  The Democrats have the mandate to act.  If they don't want to act, they don't need to be in the Congress.  All the Democrat Senators in the reelections should feel this heat as well.  Either act to end filibuster, or go golfing.
