The Issue

Have you been a customer for the past few years for a carrier service in our area? Or even a decade? If so, you might have noticed something concerning: Are you frequently waiting for websites, YouTube videos, or other data to load when you’re NOT connected to home or business Wi-Fi? What ever happened to the promises of super-fast internet that came with those 5G updates?

For residents of Pike County and the surrounding tri-state area, the struggle is real. Every day, we battle weak signal strength and cold service spots that drop crucial phone calls. It’s frustrating to step outside or travel through our community only to find that our phones can’t keep up.

A Pricey Discrepancy:

How many of you are on a prepaid plan? Or perhaps a postpaid plan? Regardless of the type, there’s a significant price difference, yet the signal quality remains the same. We’re all paying anywhere from $30 to 150+ a month for a service that, all too often, fails to deliver due to outdated hardware in our area. Thousands of us are affected by this ineffectiveness. Just think about it: 50% of the day, many of us are forced to rely on Wi-Fi because the cell towers  signal simply isn’t dependable—but we still pay for what we’re not receiving!

We have all paid more than enough over the years, and now it's all these cell phone services turn to step up and provide us with the service that we have been paying for but not receiving. We are equipped with the latest 5G phones, but the population in Pike County has grown significantly and from what we can see every single day, they didn't change anything on their end. Try any streaming service and during a busy holiday weekend and use it to its full potential ,you'll quickly see what we are saying.

Overdue Action Needed:

My friends and I have reached out to Verizon multiple times over the years in hopes of resolving these issues, yet the response is always the same. the problem persists while we continue to be charged our regular monthly fees. Through conversations with various representatives, we’ve learned that the tower hardware is outdated. We are equipped with the latest 5G phones, and yet the population in Pike County has grown significantly. Try streaming Pandora or any other service during a busy holiday weekend—you'll quickly see the struggle!

What We Demand:

It's time all cellphone carrier services takes accountability. We believe that anyone with an active plan and a Pike County zip code should receive a 50% monthly bill discount until these connectivity issues are resolved. We have all paid more than enough over the years, and now it's Verizon turn to step up and stop robbing us from what we have been paying for.

Join Our Fight:

This petition is a roll call to show them how many of us they are still robbing a monthly bill of and not delivering. This is a last ditch effort for them to fix the issue before we all leave to join a better signal carrier. Please pass it along!
