Let's keep going... Every conversation you’ve had, every action you’ve taken, every moment you’ve shown up has made a real difference in pushing back against Resynergi’s proposed plastics incinerator.
We’re less than 30 days away from the end of the BAAQMD public comment period—this is the critical window to raise our voices louder than ever!
✅ Most Important Things to Know & Do
1. Show Up at Rohnert Park City Council – Tuesday, September 9 at 4:30 PM
We need a massive show of community presence to demonstrate that Rohnert Park residents will not accept a plastic incinerator in our neighborhood. Please plan to attend and bring friends, neighbors, and family. Every seat filled sends a message.
We’ll use this flyer for outreach and to spread the word—please share widely in your networks!
2. URGENT: Ask our Representatives to fix SB 131 Before End of Day Monday, Sept 8
This bill includes a dangerous exemption from California’s environmental review process (CEQA) for a wide range of industrial projects labeled as “advanced manufacturing.” That could open the door to projects like lithium mining, plastic production, and hydrogen fuel facilities being fast-tracked into low-income and sensitive environmental areas without community input.
We’ve heard that Senate leadership is open to fixing this, but Assembly leadership is resisting. We must act by Monday, September 8 to make sure cleanup language is introduced before the legislative session ends on September 12.
📞 Please call Monday morning:
Speaker Robert Rivas: (916) 319-2029
Assembly Budget Chair Jesse Gabriel: (916) 319-2045

Senate President Pro Tempore Mike McGuire: (916) 651-4002
Sample message:
“My name is [your name], and I’m a constituent of [Assembly/Senate District __]. I’m calling regarding SB 131. This bill, passed on June 30, includes a sweeping CEQA exemption for ‘advanced manufacturing’ facilities that could allow toxic industrial projects like plastic incinerators, lithium mining, and chemical plants to be fast-tracked into our communities without proper review. It also removes protections for threatened and endangered species habitat. I urge you to support cleanup amendments to fix these dangerous loopholes before the session ends.”

Together, we’re making noise—and it’s working. Let’s keep up the pressure, keep spreading the word, and keep showing up for our community. WE KNOW this plastics incinerator is not a permitted land use anywhere in Rohnert Park- it is toxic business and has no business in our backyards!
