Las colonias felinas de Albox, en la provincia de Almería, se encuentran fuera de control, con decenas de gatos no esterilizados reproduciéndose exponencialmente tanto en zonas urbanas como en las pedanías del municipio. Esta situación no sólo afecta a la calidad de vida de los gatos comunitarios sino también a las relaciones entre estos felinos y los vecinos del municipio (hembras teniendo tres o cuatro camadas al año, peleas territoriales, gatos atropellados, maullidos molestos de hembras en celo...). 

 La única solución a este problema es la implementación del método CER (captura, esterilización y reintroducción) en todas las colonias del pueblo, como así lo estipula la nueva ley de bienestar animal aprobada en el Congreso el pasado 9 de febrero que obliga a todos los municipios españoles a la implementación del mismo. 

Tras mantener una reunión con el alcalde del pueblo donde intentamos -infructuosamente, ya que no nos permitió hablar o nos interrumpía constantemente- exponerle la problemática de las colonias y la solución mediante el método CER, nos volvemos a poner en contacto a través de esta petición para que reconsidere su postura ante esta situación insostenible. 

A continuación, con mi firma apoyo esta iniciativa y demando al alcalde de Albox que cumpla con el marco legal y adopte el método CER en todo el municipio. 

The cat colonies of Albox, in the province of Almeria, are out of control, with dozens of unsterilized cats reproducing exponentially both in urban areas and in the districts of the municipality. This situation not only affects the quality of life of the community cats but also the relations between these felines and the neighbors of the municipality (females having three or four litters a year, territorial fights, cats run over, annoying meowing of females in heat...).
The only solution to this problem is the implementation of the CER method (capture, sterilization and reintroduction) in all the colonies of the town, as stipulated in the new animal welfare law passed in Congress last February 9, which obliges all Spanish municipalities to implement it.
After holding a meeting with the mayor of the town where we tried - unsuccessfully, as he did not allow us to speak or constantly interrupted us - to explain the problems of the colonies and the solution through the CER method, we are contacting him again through this petition so that he reconsiders his position in this untenable situation.
With my signature below, I support this initiative and demand the mayor of Albox to comply with the legal framework and adopt the CER method throughout the municipality.
