Demand Xiaomi to Release the Kernel Source for Redmi Note 10 5G

Demand Xiaomi to Release the Kernel Source for Redmi Note 10 5G
The Issue
I am an owner of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G. I chose this device specifically for its Android platform, fervently believing in the open-source license that Android upholds, allowing users and other interested parties to freely modify the stock OS to adapt to any use case that fits their needs. This spirit of open software is the very reason I preferred Android and chose Xiaomi Redmi over a brand with a closed platform.
Unfortunately, Xiaomi has yet to release the kernel source for the Redmi Note 10 5G. By withholding this essential element, Xiaomi is in violation of the Android open-source license agreement (GPLv2) under which any company using the Android platform is obliged to make the kernel source available when requested. Compliance to open-source licensing rules is not only an obligation but also an affirmation of user rights, fostering transparency, and fostering trust among clients.
Technically, the kernel source allows developers and users to gain an in-depth understanding of the device's workings, potentially leading to improvements, adaptations, innovations, and security enhancements. Denying access to the kernel source inhibits these progresses.
This act of withholding is not reflective of the commitment Xiaomi made to its user base. I kindly urge Xiaomi to respect the choices of its users, adhere to the values of the Android open-source community, and release the kernel source for its Redmi Note 10 5G device.
Please sign this petition to hold Xiaomi accountable and maintain the spirit of openness and collaboration inherent in Android technology.
