Demand Warner Bros. to Replace CEO David Zaslav and Respect Animation as a Medium for All
The Issue
Hi, I'm Bryson from Lynchburg, VA, a passionate animation viewer. Animation, in my eyes, is a medium for everyone, regardless of age, but I'm disappointed with the perception and treatment by Warner Bros. CEO, David Zaslav. He seems to consider animation as a mere child's plaything, prioritizing profit over true artistry, and undermining its value. This perspective not only stifles creativity but also disallows a significant audience - adults who enjoy animation - to indulge in this art form freely.
Zaslav's management style is similar to that of Mattel - prioritizing money over creative content. His decisions have resulted in the cancellation of several beloved Warner Brothers animated movies, such as 'Scoob Holiday Haunt,' 'Batgirl,' 'Coyote Vs Acme,' and 'The Amazing World Of Gumball the Movie,' often for tax write offs. These cancellations not only hurt the animation industry, but crush the spirits of fans like me who waited eagerly for these movies.
Warner Bros. has a long history of delivering well-loved animations and we should fight to keep this legacy alive. We seek to replace David Zaslav with a CEO who will acknowledge the importance and potential of all animation. A CEO who values the creative process over monetary gain and understands the depths of animation that can be explored.
Warner Brothers, we appeal to you to acknowledge the value of animation and treat it with respect it truly deserves. We urge you to find a new CEO who will truly understand and nurture the massive potential that lies in animation, a creative art form loved by many spanning generations. Sign this petition to help us reclaim the world of animation for EVERYONE.
