Demand Walmart, Target, Kroger, and Albertsons Remove Recalled Baby Formula Immediately

Demand Walmart, Target, Kroger, and Albertsons Remove Recalled Baby Formula Immediately
The Issue
Babies are getting sick — and some of America’s biggest retailers are still leaving dangerous formula on their shelves.
The FDA has issued formal warning letters to Walmart, Target, Kroger, and Albertsons for continuing to sell ByHeart infant formula long after it was recalled due to contamination risks.
That formula has been linked to a growing outbreak of infant botulism, a potentially deadly illness that can cause breathing failure in babies as young as two weeks old.
At least 51 infants in 19 states have already been sickened. And yet, investigators found the recalled product still available at Walmart stores in 21 states, and at Target stores in 20 states — even while one of those stores was offering discounts on the recalled formula.
This isn’t just a logistics failure. It’s a betrayal of public trust.
Parents rely on retailers to keep dangerous products away from children. No caregiver should have to wonder whether the formula on store shelves might send their baby to the hospital. Excuses like “confusion” or “lack of awareness” are not good enough — not when infants’ lives are at stake.
The FDA has given these companies 15 working days to explain themselves. But that’s not fast enough. Every day this product stays on shelves is another day of unnecessary risk.
We, the undersigned, demand that Walmart, Target, Kroger, and Albertsons immediately and publicly confirm that all ByHeart formula products — recalled or not — have been pulled from every store and online platform.
We further urge these retailers to notify customers directly, in-store and online, about the recall and offer full refunds or replacements with safe alternatives.
When a product puts infants in danger, there is only one responsible action: get it off the shelves — now.
