I came to Walmart, excited to find Pride Month merchandise, only to be met with disappointment. I was looking for pride goody bags to celebrate with my friends, but there was nothing. No cards, no flags, nothing to show support for the community during this important month. All I saw was aisle upon aisle of 4th of July products, which is still a month away. It's Pride Month now, and we're left with no visible support in one of the largest retail spaces in the nation.

This lack of representation is embarrassing and honestly frustrating. Pride is about celebrating love, diversity, and expressing support for the LGBTQ+ community. When a major retailer fails to stock any merchandise, it sends the message that these values aren't important. It's vital that we see this support from companies, especially during June, to foster a sense of belonging and recognition.

What's worse is that after asking an employee, I was told there simply wasn't any pride merchandise available. It’s as if we're invisible. Other retailers are stepping up their game, but it's disheartening when a giant like Walmart lags behind. Ordering from more inclusive places like Amazon is an option, but that doesn’t change the fact that Walmart needs to do better.

We demand that Walmart stock pride merchandise in their stores across the country. They have the power to make a significant impact by showcasing inclusivity and supporting the LGBTQ+ community visibly. Let’s press them to reflect the diversity of their customers and stand by Pride. It's time for Walmart to make a change and join us in celebrating love, diversity, and community.
