I am an employee at Walgreens, and for the past two years, my coworkers and I have worked every single holiday. We yearn for the opportunity to spend Christmas Day with our families. Our plea is simple - we urge Walgreens, a company that operates stores 7 days a week with many running 24 hours, to allow its employees one collective day off on Christmas.

Walgreens is a large corporation with substantial revenue. It's only fair that they consider the well-being of their employees who work tirelessly throughout the year. Upper management enjoys holidays off while store-level workers are left behind with "voluntary" sign-up sheets which in reality are not voluntary at all.

We appreciate the $25 Christmas bonus given by Walgreens but what we truly desire is time - time to celebrate this special day with our loved ones without worrying about work schedules or shifts.
