I am writing this petition out of deep despair and urgency, as every day my heart breaks for my fellow Nigerians who are bearing the brunt of unfathomable violence and brutality. My family and those I hold dear are not merely statistics in this heart-wrenching crisis — they are lives filled with dreams and aspirations that are now mere shadows due to the onslaught of terror gripping our nation. Innocent Christians are being killed. Babies, children, teenagers, and adults are being slaughtered, kidnapped, and raped. Children are being tortured; women are kidnapped and raped; teachers are kidnapped and beheaded. All of these horrors are happening under the cloud of an ineffective leadership.

The government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, along with figures like Sheik Gumi, has not only failed to protect us but appears complicit in the atrocities being committed daily. Rather than serve the people, the government is accused of using the nation's funds to buy support and advance an agenda designed to keep those in power entrenched. This is a leadership clouded by serious questions of legitimacy and integrity — including longstanding allegations of falsified academic credentials — yet accountability remains elusive. The silence and inaction speak volumes. Instead of safeguarding the lives of its citizens, the government's leadership has allowed a haven for terror, a playground for those who wish to spread fear and insecurity.

The failures run even deeper. Security forces meant to protect all Nigerians are accused of siding with armed extremist groups rather than defending the vulnerable. Passionate, aggrieved Nigerians who dare to speak out against these atrocities are being targeted, threatened, kidnapped, and tortured into silence. Meanwhile, ordinary citizens endure daily hardship without basic services — there is no reliable electricity, leaving families in darkness and unable to preserve food or live with dignity.

We need change, and we need it now! The removal of these figures from power is not just a demand — it is a necessity for the survival and dignity of Nigeria and its citizens. Their removal will pave the way for true governance, driven by justice, equality, and a sincere commitment to the safety and prosperity of all citizens, regardless of their religion or ethnicity.

We need leaders who will stand up against injustice and violence, not stand by and watch while our people suffer. We call for international attention to hold the current leadership accountable. We call for stronger measures to protect our children, women, and those brave enough to speak up against this tyranny.

It is time for true freedom for Nigerians who are constantly living in fear of being raped, killed, tortured, or kidnapped. It is time to clear our leadership from those who enable these atrocities.

Please join this cause and sign this petition. We need your voice to amplify the plea for justice and the demand for peace and security in our beloved country. Sign today to stand with us in this critical moment for humanity.
