In our memorable Senior Disney trip, the incompetence of our House Principal Dr. Chang was placed on full display. Our joyous excursion resulted in frustration and confusion due to poor communication from Dr. Chang with both the staff and students. His absentee leadership led to a lack of clarity and coherence in the trip organization, causing disruption in our itinerary, including an unexpected early departure from one of the parks because of his failure to plan for the timely fireworks display.

Dr. Chang’s arbitrary decision-making has a severe impact not only on us but arguably on the entire student body at Upper Dublin High School. The need for strong, competent leadership in our school is paramount. According to a 2015 study by the American Educational Research Association, academic outcomes are strongly affected by quality leadership at a school level. If our leaders are unable to effectively make decisions and communicate, the entire educational process can be hindered.

Upper Dublin High School is home to over 1,300 students (as per the latest data from the U.S. Department of Education), all of whom deserve a conducive environment that is led by capable leaders. It's time for Fort Washington, Upper Dublin, PA to ensure that this reality is met. We thus request everyone to join us in our petition to dismiss Dr. Chang from his current position.
