I compose this request deeply moved by the acts of genocide in Ukraine, allegedly committed under the leadership of Vladimir Putin. Witnessing the atrocities and human rights violations, I urge the U.S. government to take action by publicly recognizing Putin as a war criminal, as previously concluded by the International Criminal Court (ICC). The fact remains that numerous reports of war crimes committed in Ukraine exist. The Human Rights Watch has extensively documented incidents demonstrating the gross violation of international humanitarian law under Putin's regime. Despite these valid cases, there remains an international hush, a silence that validates such atrocities. The U.S., being a leading global power, should raise its voice against such human rights violations and catalyze international response. By recognizing Putin as a war criminal, the U.S. would put forth an unequivocal stance against tyranny and injustice, sparking a global domino effect.
