Demand Trump End Bombing in Iran and Protect Political Prisoners

Demand Trump End Bombing in Iran and Protect Political Prisoners
The Issue
Growing up as an Iranian-American, I have always been aware of the impact of our government’s decisions on our families back in Iran. Today, we are speaking out against a conflict that continues to put lives at risk and destabilize the region, calling for decisive action from those leading these negotiations, including President Donald Trump and his administration.
First, to President Trump and the negotiators in Islamabad: we look to you to be the peacemakers you so strongly claim to be. This war has impacted the Islamic Republic’s military capabilities, yet at great cost to the Iranian people. Every day the conflict continues, the Iranian people will suffer disproportionately more than the regime, through fuel, food, water, and electricity shortages, as well as inevitable collateral harm. Reigniting hostilities will rally desperate Iranians around the flag of a regime that only a few months ago slaughtered thousands of their innocent, freedom-loving brothers and sisters.
Second, we urge you to block arms sales to Israel, especially the offensive ordinances used in Iran and Lebanon. Every munition sold fuels the flames of further conflict beyond the ability of the United States to fully control, and we cannot stand idly by while bombs we pay for rain down on innocents in the most unpopular war in American history. This isn't just another political move, this is a chance to prevent another forever war, protect the lives of innocent civilians in Iran, Lebanon, the broader Middle East, and secure the global economy against the disruptive forces of war and insurgency.
And finally, we ask you on behalf of the Iranian people who have suffered at the hands of the regime of the Islamic Republic and whose fate is now in your hands. We beg you to end this conflict with a just peace, through three critical demands:
- Guarantee the security, safety, and rights of all political prisoners in Iran.
- Guarantee the right to informational access for all Iranians, including but not limited to an end to the longest imposed digital blackout in Iran’s history as well as preventing a re-imposition.
- Guarantee the safety of Iranian civilians against retaliatory violence taken by the regime against civilians after the cessation of hostilities.
With the future of the region and the Iranian people at a crossroads, inaction is not an option. America must claim its moral responsibility to lead not just through arms but through diplomacy, fostering a future where disputes are settled not only on economic and military terms but on moral ones.
To anti-war Americans, join us in this urgent call to action to inspire our leaders in making the right choices, demand the end of foreign arms sales, and push for just peace. Sign this petition and lend your voice to the millions calling for an end to the senseless violence in the United States, Iran, and the rest of the world. Together, through collective action and unwavering determination, America can usher in a new era of peace and hope
