We, parents and stakeholders of Western Hills Elementary, are calling for a transparent and fair selection process for our new principal. We believe in the future of our children's education and the wellbeing of our teachers and staff, and therefore, we stand firmly against the selection of a principal from a closing school, not based on merit but merely to fill an impending vacancy. We propose the formation of a parent advisory board, tasked with recommending suitable candidates who have our students' best interests at heart. This is not uncommon - according to the National PTA (National Parent Teacher Association), parent involvement in key decisions, such as principal selection, can lead to a stronger sense of community and better outcome for students. Let us prioritize the educational welfare of our students and stand up for transparency and fairness in our school system.
