Demand Transparency from Colorado Parks & Wildlife on Confiscated Wildlife

Demand Transparency from Colorado Parks & Wildlife on Confiscated Wildlife
The Issue
Our licensed wildlife center, nestled in the heart of Colorado Springs, CO, had the privilege of caring for and nurturing a group of baby raccoons, baby foxes, a baby porcupine, and baby squirrels. These young creatures came to us vulnerable and in need, and we dedicated ourselves to ensuring they had a chance to thrive. However, on July 18th, a painful disruption occurred. Colorado Parks and Wildlife conducted a raid, confiscating these innocent animals from our facility, stating cages they've approved for the past 7 years are not at standard. Yet standards have not changed, and we were not given any opportunity to improve our caging, as we would have done so.
Since that day, not a word has been heard about their fate. We are anguished, not knowing if the animals are safe, well-cared for, or even alive. These creatures were not just animals in our care; they were a part of our community, a testament to the bond we share with the natural world. We, along with countless supporters, demand transparency on this matter. We deserve to know the actions taken by Colorado Parks and Wildlife during and following their raid.
It is crucial for Colorado Parks and Wildlife to uphold the values of accountability and transparency, especially when it involves entrusted wildlife lives. We call upon them to disclose the whereabouts and conditions of the confiscated wildlife. Such information will not only relieve the hearts of those directly involved in their care but also reinforce public confidence in wildlife management practices in Colorado Springs.
Transparency is key in ensuring ethical treatment and due care of our wildlife. We urge Colorado Parks and Wildlife to release detailed information regarding the actions taken with the confiscated baby animals. Understanding what happened is vital for our community and for the continued trust in wildlife conservation efforts.
Join us in demanding answers. Please sign this petition and be a voice for the voiceless creatures whose safety and welfare remain uncertain.
