The Issue

We, the undersigned, are calling for immediate transparency, accountability, and independent review regarding Child Foundation and its public representation.

1. Concern Regarding Public Representation

A key concern arises from the public actions of Mrs. Lemna Parvini, who has appeared in media interviews, including CBS News Chicago, expressing views that many reasonably interpret as supportive of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), an entity designated under U.S. sanctions frameworks.

As an individual associated with fundraising and public-facing activities connected to Child Foundation, these statements raise serious and legitimate questions:

  • What is the nature of Mrs. Parvini’s role, affiliation, or authority within Child Foundation?
  • Does the organization have oversight policies governing public statements made by individuals representing or fundraising on its behalf?
  • How does the organization ensure that its representatives’ public positions do not conflict with U.S. laws, donor expectations, and the organization’s stated mission?

When individuals visibly connected to a nonprofit publicly express controversial or politically sensitive positions, it directly impacts public trust and donor confidence.

In addition, members of the community who have raised concerns report receiving cease and desist letters warning of potential legal action. This has created further concern that individuals are being discouraged from asking questions or seeking transparency. A copy of the redacted letter is included at the end of this petition.

2. Call for Regulatory Review and Financial Transparency

Given the above concerns, we respectfully call for appropriate oversight and review by relevant U.S. authorities, including:

  • The Internal Revenue Service (IRS)
  • The U.S. Department of the Treasury, including its sanctions enforcement divisions such as OFAC

This request is made to ensure:

  • Full compliance with U.S. nonprofit and financial regulations
  • That all donations are used strictly for their intended charitable purposes
  • That no funds are knowingly or unknowingly directed to sanctioned entities or activities

Additional Request for Transparency

To address growing public concern and restore confidence, we call on Child Foundation to voluntarily provide:

A clear breakdown of financial activities and fund allocation over the past five years
Transparency regarding international fund transfers and operational oversight
Clarification of governance and compliance safeguards in place

Closing Statement

This petition does not assert wrongdoing.
It reflects legitimate public concern and calls for transparency, accountability, and independent verification.

Transparency is not a threat, it is the foundation of trust.

Re: Cease and Desist Demand for Defamatory Statements Concerning Child Foundation

Dear [REDACTED]:

I write in my capacity as Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer of Child Foundation regarding false and
defamatory statements you have published and or repeated online about the organization.

You have stated in substance that individuals should not support or donate to Child Foundation because it is allegedly connected with the mullahs in Iran. This statement is factually false. Child Foundation has no such affiliation. Your publication of this claim is causing material harm to the organization’s reputation, donor relationships, and operations.

These statements constitute defamation because they assert or imply false statements of fact about Child Foundation’s affiliations and integrity. They are reasonably understood as factual claims, not protected opinion, and they tend to injure the organization in its mission and fundraising activities.

Accordingly, you are hereby directed to:

  1. Immediately cease and desist from making, publishing, reposting, endorsing, or repeating any
statement that Child Foundation is connected with the mullahs in Iran or any similar false claim.
  2. Remove and permanently delete all existing posts, comments, messages, reviews, and other
content containing such statements or implications.
  3. Issue a clear written retraction stating that your prior statements regarding any alleged
connection between Child Foundation and the mullahs in Iran were false.
  4. Preserve all documents and electronically stored information relating to these statements.
Please provide written confirmation of full compliance.

If you fail to comply, Child Foundation will pursue all available legal remedies, including claims for
defamation and related causes of action.
Nothing in this letter constitutes a complete statement of facts or law, and all rights and remedies are
expressly reserved.

Sincerely,

[REDACTED NAME]
