This experience is not unique to me; many drivers have faced the same abrupt and unexplained deactivation of their accounts.

Spark's lack of transparency and fairness in these actions is deeply concerning. As independent contractors, we deserve clear communication about our status and the right to contest decisions that impact our work. The current practice not only affects us financially but also undermines trust in the platform we depend on.

According to a 2020 study by Ridester, over 30% of gig economy drivers have experienced unexplained account deactivations (Ridester). This statistic highlights an industry-wide issue that needs immediate attention.

We call upon Spark to establish clear guidelines for account deactivation, provide specific reasons when an account is deactivated, and implement a fair appeals process for affected drivers. It's time for transparency and fairness in the gig economy.
