August 5th, 2026 Update: 180 Days Without finishing the investigation - Still withholding the bodycam footage.

It has now been 6 months—180 days—since Branden Chindavong was murdered by the Federal Way Police Department. Half a year has passed, yet both the Federal Way Police Department and the Tukwila Police Department (leading the Valley Independent Investigative Team response) continue to withhold the unedited body camera footage.

Please continue reaching out to the contacts below to ask for the release of the unedited body camera footage. Ask them why they haven't concluded the investigation into their own departments after 6 months while withholding evidence from the public. May 8th 2026 update: It has been exactly 90 days since Federal Way Police murdered Branden Chindavong. There is a video available online showcasing the incident from witnesses perspectives. Both the Federal Way and Tukwila police departments continue to refuse the release of the bodycam footage. Here is how you can help push this forward.

The community deserves the truth.

On February 6th, Branden Chindavong was murdered during an encounter with the Federal Way Police Department. While the department has released their initial statements, new videos of the incident have surfaced leaving the community with unanswered questions.

Transparency is not a courtesy, it is a requirement for public trust. We, the undersigned, are calling for immediate Release of the bodycam footage. We demand the full, unedited body camera footage to be released to the public.

Justice cannot be served in the dark. We stand with the Chindavong family in demanding that the Federal Way Police Department holds itself to the highest standard of accountability. Release the tapes. Let the facts speak for themselves.
