Demand the Transfer of Red to "Rescue Texas" from His Neglectful Owners
The Issue
As someone who profoundly cares for animals and their welfare, I have been closely involved in the terrible situation of Red, a dog who has been suffering under the care of neglectful owners. Despite the attempts of "Rescue Texas", a dedicated rescue group, to intervene and provide better living conditions for Red, Beaumont Animal Care, the shelter conducting the alleged investigation, has allowed Red to stay with the owners. This needs to change. We were made aware that although the city shelter that has jurisdiction over this situation, is conducting an investigation - that same shelter supervisor, Matthew Fortenberry, has allowed Red to remain with the owners. At 14 years old, Red was already near the end of his life. He should not be made to stay with owners who brought him to deaths' doorstep.
Unfortunately, Red's case is not rare. According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, almost 1,000,000 pets face abuse or neglect each year (ASPCA). This is a harrowing statistic and a problem in our society that can no longer be ignored. Red's plight is a direct representation of this rampant issue and standing up for him means standing up for all animals in similar circumstances.
We need your voice to help bring justice for Red. By signing this petition, we can showcase the public's support for Red's transfer to "Rescue Texas". We demand that Beaumont Animal Care heed the plea of thousands of citizens who value animal welfare. Let us make a stand for Red and other animals who remain silent victims of neglect and abuse.
