As a concerned citizen from the Ridgeview area, the recent events unfolding at Ridgeview Middle School in Columbus, Ohio, have left me deeply worried about the safety and quality of education our children receive. Principal Natalie James has lately made the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

In a clear dereliction of her duty, she declined to cooperate with the Columbus Police who were summoned by the school's safety officer to investigate a bomb threat. Her decision to obstruct an official investigation citing a feeling of "unsafety" exhibits a worrying disregard for the law and our children's safety.

Notably, this is not the first encounter of Principal James with legal troubles. She has faced arrest multiple times for violent offenses, casting serious doubts about her fitness to lead an educational institution. Our community is now on edge, struggling with the reality of their children being under the supervision of an individual with such questionable conduct and actions.

Our children deserve to be educated in a safe, welcoming and disciplined environment. Given Principal James' history and recent misconduct, we firmly believe that she is incapable of providing that. We, therefore, call on the Columbus Board of Education to uphold the standards of our cherished educational institution and accept nothing less than Principal Natalie James' immediate resignation.
