The Issue
Senator Joe Picozzi (R- PA Senate District 5) has betrayed his community in Northeast Philadelphia. As a resident deeply concerned not only for my future but for the future of every person relying on SEPTA, I feel compelled to speak out against his actions. Senator Picozzi, claiming to save SEPTA, presented a budget that was nothing more than a hollow promise, misleading us all. His insincere attempt to secure the future of our vital transit system shows a troubling lack of integrity. Public officials should be transparent and genuine, qualities Joe Picozzi apparently lacks as evidenced by his recent actions. In a city like Philadelphia, our public transit system is the backbone of our daily lives, connecting communities and supporting economic growth. When a leader in a position of power presents deceit in the guise of a solution, it undermines our trust and jeopardizes the very foundation of our community. According to reports, the budget proposed by Picozzi not only lacked feasibility but was also drastically different from expert recommendations needed to sustain and improve SEPTA services. His actions demonstrate a clear disconnect from the needs and wellbeing of his constituents. Now is the time for accountability. We need leaders committed to genuine progress, those who understand the urgent needs of public services and are willing to advocate sincerely for effective solutions. Joe Picozzi has shown he is not that leader. Join the call for change and demand the resignation of State Senator Joe Picozzi. Sign this petition to ensure that Northeast Philadelphia is represented by someone who truly values and respects their community’s needs. Together, we can restore honesty and integrity to our local government. Please add your signature to make a difference.
