As a concerned parent, I have seen firsthand the impact of our current head football coach's leadership on the George Washington High School football team.  His lack of proper communication with players (some of whom quit mid season) and parents resulted in an extremely negative sense of team and community.  A majority of the current roster, came home disheartened and dispirited during this past season. The overall morale of the team has been noticeably in decline under the current head coach with the last two seniors classes (2024 & 2025) feeling no sense of pride or accomplishment when their seasons concluded.  Participation is at an all time low for the program.  According to the NFHS, a coach has a direct impact on both a team's performance and the individual character building of the players (source: National Federation of High School Associations). This is a sentiment echoed by numerous parents and guardians of other players in addition to alumni who have shared similar experiences and concerns. More importantly we had several unnecessary injuries occur due to disciplinary actions of the coach that could have easily been prevented if our coach communicated properly with players and parents at the start of the season.  We must protect the physical and emotional well-being of our children and secure a promising future for our school's football team. It’s time to demand the resignation of our current head football coach. Please stand with us today and sign the petition.
