Mr. John Ayars is the Tipton Middle School assistant principal. He has been at TMS for two years starting the next school year. He is infamous around our school for making up the handbook as he goes, lying to the students about TCSC school board policies, and portraying discrimination as "not a problem anymore". There are future Tipton Middle School students at risk.

To rewind, John Ayars joined Tipton Community Schools last year, (2021-2022). Over the previous two years he's been here, he has passed some agendas in the middle school. For starters, You aren't allowed to use the library unless you are in "good standing". Pretty vague right? He's also already restricted the use of most backpacks, bags, and computer holders, and it's on his agenda to ban trapper keepers next year. What exactly are you supposed to put your school supplies in?

Mr. Ayars also has a very closed-minded view of current-day discrimination. He states that it just doesn't happen anymore. He references his "knowledge" from the books he's read, like "White Fragility". While doing this, he also does nothing for the minority students being bullied at TMS. 

That doesn't end there. Mr. Ayars has also been known for making up rules, school board policies, and the handbook as he goes. He frequently gets into arguments with middle school and high school students about certain "rules" that they're breaking. Not a large amount of students like Mr. Ayars. He isn't an ideal or welcoming figure in a lot of people's minds. He likes to get in arguments with students and doesn't do much when it comes to real problems at the school.

To go deeper into what I stated before, Mr. Ayars has implemented a ton of new rules throughout the year that he wants to get passed through the school board and put into the handbook. Mainly because he says to students and teachers that it's already in the handbook and that it's already passed by the school board. He's lying to our TMS staff and students and is trying to make his lies a reality.

Now is the time to act! The longer he is at TMS, the more he is going to implement new obnoxious rules. TMS has been known for having discrimination and major bullying at its schools. Mr. Ayars doesn't make the situation any better. Please sign this petition and share it to act now.
