Demand the Resignation of Director Sarah Rexroad and School Board President, Jim Martin

Demand the Resignation of Director Sarah Rexroad and School Board President, Jim Martin
The Issue
The parents, guardians, and community members respectfully call for the immediate resignation of Sarah Rexroad, Director of Pioneer Grove Educational Center and the President of the Governing School Board, Jim Martin.
Under their leadership, the students' needs and safety have been neglected, placing them in harm's way due to repeated instances of negligence. Furthermore, Sarah Rexroad has failed to lead and support her staff effectively. Staff members are overworked, under-supported, and not provided with adequate training, creating a strained environment that directly impacts the quality of education and care provided to the students.
Most concerning is the failure to provide some students with essential resources and accommodations specifically addressed in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), as required by law under the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). This violation of students’ legal rights undermines their ability to succeed and demonstrates a disregard for compliance with state and federal regulations.
The unwillingness of both the Director and the Governing School Board President to work collaboratively with parents, their refusal to take accountability for their actions, and their lack of leadership skills have contributed to a breakdown in trust and effective governance at Pioneer Grove Educational Center.
As stewards of our children’s education and well-being, it is their fundamental duty to prioritize students' safety, success, and development. Unfortunately, the current administration has failed in these responsibilities, as evidenced by:
Compromised Student Safety: Students have been placed in harm's way due to inadequate oversight and negligent policies.
Failure to Engage with Families: There has been a clear disregard for parental input and collaboration, an essential component of fostering a thriving educational environment.
Violation of Students’ Legal Rights: Some students have not received the services and accommodations outlined in their IEPs, which is illegal under ISBE guidelines and unacceptable.
Poor Leadership and Staff Mismanagement: Staff members are overworked without proper support or training, leading to burnout and diminished effectiveness, ultimately affecting the students.
Lack of Accountability: The Director and Board President have repeatedly evaded responsibility for their mismanagement, resulting in a pervasive distrust among the school community.
We believe that the Pioneer Grove Educational Center deserves competent, transparent leaders committed to prioritizing the students above all else. Effective leadership requires collaboration, accountability, and a steadfast commitment to the well-being of every student and staff member.
For the sake of our students’ safety, well-being, and future, we demand a change in leadership. It is time to restore trust, rebuild our community’s confidence, and ensure our children receive the quality education and care they deserve.
We urge Sarah Rexroad and Jim Martin to resign immediately to allow new leadership to prioritize the students, support the staff, work collaboratively with parents, and guide the Pioneer Grove Educational Center toward a brighter future.
