As a lifelong resident of Palm Bay, I have watched our city council mismanage funds and fail to act in the best interests of our community. Recently, our city has experienced excessive, uncontrolled growth with rampant construction of homes, apartments, and car washes, with little consideration for the much-needed infrastructure. The allocated funds meant for building a sustainable city seem to be used frivolously and, most concerningly, without transparency.

Our city council, headed by the Mayor, has paid little heed to the concerns of the residents who elected them into office. Sadly, they have further placed restrictions on residents' comments during meetings, effectively silencing the people.

It is clear that our plea for a sustainable, transparent, and democratic local governance has fallen on deaf ears. Such behaviour is unacceptable for any public servant, let alone those in the highest positions of our city council. It is time for a change in leadership; it is time for officials who will listen to residents and use Palm Bay’s resources to build a community we can be proud of.
