This petition is deeply personal. My daughter, vibrant and innocent, suffered undue negligence at the hands of her teacher, Ms. Pesak. It was a usual day of school when my daughter requested to use the restroom. Her request was denied unjustly by Ms. Pesak, an act that disregarded basic human rights and school code of conduct. As a child, unable to challenge this authority, she had to suffer the consequences of the teacher's thoughtlessness, leading to a kidney infection severe enough to require hospitalization.

The traumatic event my daughter endured is not one a child should ever experience. The ignorance and insensitivity of a teacher should never endanger a student's health or wellbeing. There is a clear, advocated right to use the restroom in schools, making the case an undeniable breach. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, withholding restroom access can lead to serious health implications including urinary tract infections and constipation (AAP, 2016).

Our call is for the immediate removal of Ms. Pesak from her teaching position to ensure the safety of the students she has under her care. The domain of education should be free from harm, and our teachers should be those who uphold these values, not dismiss them.

It should never happen that a student's right to health and wellbeing are compromised in a place of learning. We appeal to the school board to hold Ms. Pesak accountable for her negligent behavior before other students suffer the same consequences.
