As deeply concerned parents, relatives, and members of the Alvord School District, we can no longer stand by while our children's safety and wellbeing are put into jeopardy by Ms. Cabesa. Unquestionably, every child deserves robust security and an environment that nurtures their learning and development. We believe our kids deserve no less, especially our special needs students who seem to bear the brunt of Ms. Cabesa's questionable leadership.

Rumors and first-hand accounts of negligence by Ms. Cabesa continue to cause distress among our community members. Her alleged discrimination against students with special needs is an affront to the principles of inclusivity, equality, and respect that must underscore every educational setting.

Furthermore, the presence of drugs and potential for gun violence in our schools remains a terrifying reality that we, as caregivers, have agonized over. The National Institute on Drug Abuse reports that 5.8% of adolescents in California had a substance use disorder in 2014. This is not an insignificant figure and underscores the profound challenge and risk confronting our students (Source: NIDA).

Subscription to a belief that prioritizes the physical and emotional safety of our students should be a non-negotiable requirement for anyone in a position of leadership within our district. Unfortunately, we believe Ms. Cabesa's actions, or lack thereof, undermine this belief.

We urge every member within the Alvord School District, Riverside, CA, and everyone who values the sanctity of our children's education and safety, to stand with us. We implore the responsible bodies to take immediate action ensuring Ms. Cabesa's removal from all school buildings within the Alvord School District.
