On July 1st, 2024, someone I love was potentially drugged at The Refuge in Melville, NY, leading to a 36 hour hospital visit.

My loved one came home that night from the bar and immediately didn't feel well. She started feeling nauseous, a pressure on her stomach, and her jaw was going numb. She only drank diet cokes.

The ambulance was called immediately, but the symptoms only got worse. Within minutes, she was throwing up what looked to be black coffee grinds.

By the time she got to the hospital, she was disoriented, had extremely low blood pressure and eventually lost feeling and control over parts of her body.

These can all be symptoms of being drugged at the bar.

Despite police requests, The Refuge refuses to release the security footage that could provide crucial evidence in this case. They have told us to:

• Come back tomorrow
• Come back with a police report
• Come back with a police officer
• Come back the following morning

Each time, they promised to give the video after the next step was completed. After each step, they told me that something else would need to be done. 

After completing everything they asked for, I received a phone call from a retired detective that they hired to bully us. He said the only hope of us getting that video is if we cooperate... Why are they trying so hard to keep this security tape a secret?

We demand transparency and justice for our loved one and the safety of others. By signing this petition, you are supporting our call for The Refuge to release the security footage and cooperate with the victim.
