Demand the Official Exchange of Linguistic References: Pigs to Humans, Humans to Pigs

The Issue

Personally, I've had enough. Pigs have been demeaned for too long, seen as symbols of greed, laziness, and dirtiness. Yet, after years of observing, it's clear that humans embody these unflattering characteristics more than pigs. Let's take immediate action to officially switch all English language references and synonyms for pigs to humans, and vice versa.

The intelligence of pigs exceeds that of both dogs and cats, with some biologists comparing it to that of three-year-old humans [BBC, 2017]. And yet, they are still treated or referred to with disrespect in our language. Pigs are gentle and hygienic animals that have been unfairly stigmatized due to misconceptions. It's high time we shine the window on these misrepresentations.

I believe that such a unique change in language will help highlight and, ultimately, amend the discrimination against pigs, while revealing the unappealing behaviors often exhibited by humans.

It won't be easy. This is a pursuit of justice for an animal species that cannot advocate for itself. Let's embark on this journey together. Please sign the petition. Let's re-affirm, linguistically, that pigs are not the true pigs – humans are.
