Demand the Leader of the Opposition table a motion of no confidence in the UK Government
The Issue
COVER UP OF FAILINGS THAT LED TO SOUTHPORT MURDERS:
From 2017, MPs had been consistently informed that failings in the school safeguarding systems were leading to harm, deaths and suicides in schools, due to bullying, physical and sexual violence including rape and yet failed to investigate on numerous occasions, despite calls for a public inquiry into the issues.
Evidence of a cover up involving MPs and the Media, eventually led to concerns expressed by the European Commission’s Head of Human Rights, High Court and Court of Appeal Judges and to the case being reviewed by the United Nations.
Critically, MPs were also informed that there had been an increase in bullying and violence, involving the use of weapons and knives and warned that this was likely to lead to an increase in knife attacks, not just within schools but the community, unless the failings were addressed.
A Prevent review now evidences that those same failings, were likely a significant factor in the Southport Murders and the case of Axel Rudakubana and that had MPs including Keir Starmer not ignored them, Southport almost certainly would not have happened. Moreover, a recent terrorism review has evidenced that if MPs continue to ignore the failings, this will likely lead to future atrocities and attacks including school massacres.
The current government's latest response, instead of taking action to prevent such tragic events from occurring, has been to take a number of steps to cover this up. This includes ensuring MP's will not be questioned on their failings at the public inquiry, so that they can avoid any blame.
The situation now demands accountability through a no confidence vote with a general election to follow.
