Like many in our community, I voted for Councillor Paul Moore to represent us in the Dewsbury East ward for Kirklees Council. We entrusted him to be our voice, our advocate, and to serve our interests and welfare with integrity. But our trust has been breached.

Councillor Paul Moore, who was elected to serve the Dewsbury East ward for Kirklees Council at 2023 local elections, has been charged with causing a public nuisance and carrying on a business with the intent to defraud creditors or for other fraudulent reasons.

With all this in mind I ask the following questions? 

1- Paul Moore is handling public Funds and has been charged. Why is he still employed by Chickenley Community Center? 

2- Paul Moore is getting public Funds and has been charged for FRAUD! why is Kirklees Council allowing this and finding the organisation that employs him?

3- Paul Moore is being paid an allowance as a councillor which is funded by TAX PAYERS and has been charged for a criminal offence!

4 - Why are the Community Alliance (Mansood Ahmed, Yusra Hussain, Cathy Scott Habiban Zaman and Adam Zaman) councillors not distancing themselves from this charged by our law authorities not able to support the CPS but happy to be part of this political figure Paul Moore. We demand Mansoor Ahmed, Yusra Hussain, Cathy Scott, Habiban Zaman and Adam Zaman call for Paul Moore to immediately resign?

5- Where is my independent MP Iqbal Mohamed Independent Member of Parliament for Dewsbury and Batley who I voted for and why is he not in support of our Law and Order authorities! We demand you call Paul Moore to resign?

Councillor Paul Moore is facing very serious charges with implications severe enough to shake the confidence of every citizen in our community. He is one amongst five people facing charges in relation to the Dewsbury-based business RT Diagnostics. Shockingly, the company is accused of misleading customers and even resorting to intimidation tactics, such as pressurising a customer into removing a complaint through a late-night call.

His continuing presence in Kirklees Council chambers is a deep-seated concern for taxpayers, as he receives public funds for duties that seemingly contradict the values we believed he held. Furthermore, his role as part of the council means that he interacts with the public on a regular basis - a position which demands a high level of trust.

In the shadow of these allegations, we question Pauls ability to responsibly and ethically fulfill his duty as a public representative. Therefore, we demand the immediate resignation of Councillor Paul Moore from his position in Kirklees Council. 

In the face of such grave charges, Paul Moore should step aside until his name is cleared, in the interest of preserving public trust and the integrity of Kirklees council. 

Being charged by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) means that the CPS has reviewed evidence provided by the police and decided there is enough evidence to prosecute Paul Moore has been charged with causing a public nuisance and carrying on a business with the intent to defraud creditors or for other fraudulent reasons. This means he has formally been accused of a crime and required to appear in court to face the very serious charges In October 2025

The process typically involves:
1. Investigation - The police have gathered evidence and may have arrested him and interviewed Paul Moore.

2. CPS Review -  The CPS assesses whether there is enough evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction for Paul Moore crime and whether prosecution is in the public interest which in Paul Moores case they have.

3. Charge - The CPS decides to proceed with Paul Moore case and has been charged and given details of his court appearance. 

Paul Moore was brought before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 25th April 2024 and a trial was due to take place on Thursday, 23rd May 2024 at Bradford Crown Court.
Moore gave not guilty of his plea at the magistrates’ hearing and now is faced to go on trial  (thus delaying, costing the tax payer yet still receiving from the public purse).
