Utility bills are out of control! My mother, like countless others, is living in dire fear of receiving the next excessively high utility bills. Despite cutting back her usage as much as she can, being on a fixed budget, her bills regularly exceed $400. Can you imagine an elderly woman roasting on hot days because she is worried about what the bill will be. Family's, minimum wage workers, Seniors, everyone is affected by the ridiculous increases. 4x this year already! This situation is intolerable, and it is a direct result of the negligence of California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) commissioners. They are supposed to intervene in these situations, to ensure fair prices for consumers. Instead, they have allowed utilities to continue raising rates unabated, squeezing customers dry while providing no feasible solutions for those who can't afford these skyrocketing costs. 

Research has shown that energy prices in California are significantly higher than the national average (source: U.S. Energy Information Administration). It's not surprising then that the people of California, especially our vulnerable populations, are being unduly burdened.

It's clear that the CPUC commissioners have failed in their duty to protect Californians from unjustly high utility prices. Therefore, we are petitioning the Governor to replace these commissioners with individuals who will prioritize safeguarding customer rights and implementing sustainable strategies to lower energy costs.
