Demand the Dismissal of Pastor Allan Kendrick for Admitted Child Abuse and Encouragement of Suicide
The Issue
I watched in horror and disbelief as Pastor Allan Kendrick of Oasis of Praise Church of God in Bessemer, Alabama, openly and without remorse, confesses to physically abusing his own children and encouraging a suicidal man to end his life. Recent situations of corruption, notably Mica Miller and John McLemore, shake me to my very core and spark in me an urgent need for justice. We entrust spiritual leaders with a significant responsibility to guide, support, and nourish their flock, not exploit and debase them.
Research has shown the harmful impacts of child abuse, both physical and psychological, which extend into adulthood, perpetuating a cycle of violence and distress (American Psychological Association, 2014). Many look to church as a beacon of hope and refuge - a sanctuary from the hardships of daily life. Pastor Kendrick has grievously violated this sacred trust and tarnished the reputation of religious leaders worldwide. It is clear he is unfit to be a leader.
Similarly, his grotesque manipulation of a vulnerable, suicidal man is absolutely unacceptable. The World Health Organization states that for each adult who dies by suicide there may be more than 20 others attempting suicide. Encouraging such behavior indicates a grossly severe lapse in judgment and empathy, traits vital to any community leader, especially a spiritual shepherd like Allan Kendrick. You can contact the Alabama Church of God at 205-942-2090 or the Church of God International Office in Cleveland Tn at 423-339-8264. You can also call Jefferson County Alabama Sheriffs Department. The videos of his actions are on both TikTok and Facebook social media.
In light of the shocking evidence, we urgently call for the immediate dismissal of Pastor Allan Kendrick from Oasis of Praise Church of God. This action will send a clear message that abuse and manipulative coercion will not be tolerated, not least from those entrusted with spiritual guidance. Sign this petition to join the fight for justice and protect the vulnerable members of Oasis of Praise Church of God and the wider community.
