The Issue

As residents of Tembisa, we are deeply concerned about our health and that of our children. We have been consuming products from local shops run by foreign nationals, which have proven to be hazardous. These shops sell expired food, illicit goods, and even knockoffs that they produce and repackage themselves without adhering to proper health regulations or standards.

Our community has experienced illnesses and in some tragic cases, fatalities due to these substandard products. The disregard for the laws governing food production is not only illegal but also a grave threat to public health.

These traders do not comply with the country's health and safety laws. There is also suspicion that some may be contravening immigration laws by being here illegally. This situation poses a danger not only to our community but society at large.

We demand immediate action from our government - these foreign national shops must be closed down permanently removed from our township as soon as possible.

This petition is more than just a plea; it's an urgent call for justice against those who exploit the vulnerable for profit while disregarding basic human rights such as access to safe food.

Let us stand together in demanding safer standards for all residents of Tembisa. Sign this petition today!
