Demand the Ban of the iReady Online Learning Program

The Issue

I am one of many users who suffer from discomfort due to iReady, an online learning platform often enforced in our education system. The programmed takes a one-size-fits-all approach, ignoring individual learning needs and skills. According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information, prolonged screen time can lead to visual discomfort and cognitive issues, something I, along with many other iReady users, have experienced (NCBI, 2020). It's not just about personal discomfort, but about the quality of education we receive. EdWeek MarketBrief in 2019 reported that only 26% of teachers found the iReady diagnostic scores to be "useful and accurate". This directly contradicts the purpose of a learning tool that is meant to improve, not compromise, educational outcomes. Our wellbeing and education should not be compromised due to inadequate and inefficient learning tools. We urge those in authority to reconsider the use of iReady in our learning institutions. Please sign this petition and help us demand a better, more effective, and less mentally straining learning tool.
