For the last few months, and ever since the ICJ ruled that "Israel" was plausibly committing a genocide, we have seen several meetings at the UNSC in which nearly every member has loudly and repeatedly professed their commitment and support for complying with and upholding both international law and acting in accordance with the genocide convention to act to prevent a genocide. This includes, but is not limited to, an entire week spent in meetings with 52 member states of the OIC expressing similar commitments.

 

The US has vetoed several resolutions, and the truth of the matter is that UNGA, UNSC and the UN could have overridden the veto at any time by calling for an emergency meeting at GA to vote on Uniting For Peace resolution which could include: an immediate permanent ceasefire, a UN peacekeeping force to ensure that "Israel" complies with the order, possible expulsion of US and/or "Israel", Palestine made a permanent member, and sanctions and tribunals for all complicit individuals. They could have done this MONTHS ago and could still do it today but continually refuse to and instead are drawing out a laborious and time consuming dead end circular bureaucratic process to stall any progress as "Israel's ongoing, horrific massacre and serial slaughter of babies, kids and civilians continues and escalates without any consequence for "Israel " or it's rogue psychopathic counterparts and financiers in the US, both of which have flagrantly and unabashedly displayed their clear contempt for and rejection of international law. That is, they've violated every single one and violated Leahy Law, committed war crimes and crimes against humanity with full impunity. 

 

Why has the UNGA, UNSC, and UN failed to act to call for UNITING FOR PEACE?! At this point, and ever since the ICJ ruling was issued on January 26th, they are all in violation of the  international law they're obligated to enforce. ICJ has done it's job, but UNGA, UN and UNSC have NOT. They've failed to act to prevent a genocide as obligated under the genocide convention and in doing so have made themselves complicit in every single Palestinian murder since. This is blood on their hands. 

I have personally spent months tweeting at and leaving voicemails at the UNSC, talked to operators who said they passed along these multiple messages PLEADING for them to DO THEIR JOBS and invoke Uniting For Peace, all to no response and no avail.

This petition is to put them in notice that we are aware of their negligence in and dereliction of duty. That we know they are complicit. And finally, to urge them to act immediately, as they all can, to ACT to PREVENT the GENOCIDE and SAVE GAZA. This is on them, and their failure to do so not only puts their reputations at stake, as well as the reputation of the UN in general, it also makes them potentially accountable for violating the laws they are by profession required to enforce.

 

It would only take 7 or 8 members of the UNSC, or a majority of the UN, or GA to take this to a vote. 

 

Please sign and DEMAND that they INVOKE UNITING FOR PEACE NOW. Immediate permanent ceasefire. UN peacekeeping force to ensure that "Israel" complies. Sanctions and tribunals. Palestine permanent membership. US and "Israel" out of UN.
