I'm sure you all have heard about the debt and cuts across the district. Many of our beloved teachers are losing their jobs because of the carelessness of the district.
We stand at a crossroads. Our district is more than just streets and buildings—it’s our home, our community, and a reflection of the values we hold dear. Yet, when we look around, we see challenges that demand our attention: schools that need resources and voices that deserve to be heard. But beyond these everyday concerns lies an even deeper issue—mismanagement and financial instability. Our district’s leadership has failed us, allowing reckless budgeting and poor decision-making to sink us into a staggering $30 million debt. Instead of investing in the well-being of our community, vital funds are mishandled, leaving our essential and extracurricular services underfunded. This isn’t about waiting for someone else to fix things—it’s about recognizing that we are the ones who shape the destiny of our district.
Change doesn’t happen by standing on the sidelines. It happens when we engage—when we hold leaders accountable, demand transparency in financial decisions, and advocate for responsible budgeting. It happens when we refuse to accept broken systems and challenge the status quo. Our tax dollars should be used for our benefit, not wasted through negligence. We must push for leadership that values financial responsibility and prioritizes the needs of the people. Every movement in history started with ordinary people who believed in something bigger than themselves. Today, it’s our turn. It’s time for us to take ownership, to be the leaders our community needs, and to push for a district that reflects our highest hopes rather than our deepest frustrations.
