Demand that Rush Limbaugh & Sarah Palin Stop Denying Global Warming & Stop Telling Lies!

According to the Union of Concerned Scientists, the overwhelming consensus of more than 1,250 authors and 2,000 scientific expert reviewers from the Nobel Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, as well as 18 American scientific associations, is that global warming is observably happening and a growing threat to our world.

It is hard to dispute the following documented facts:

* The first 10 years of this century have been the warmest decade on record.

* Sea ice in the Arctic melted to its third-lowest area ever measured last summer.

* Carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere are currently the highest they have been in at least 800,000 years.

* Worldwide, ocean temperatures last summer were hotter than ever previously recorded.

However, people like Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin continue to deny these and other facts.

Rush Limbaugh:

"When I talk to people who believe in this global warming crap… it's fake science. They may have educations and degrees that say they are scientists, but they're not. They're political hacks and leftists.”

Fox News contributor Sarah Palin:

Speaking in Redding, CA, at the Sierra-Cascade Logging Conference, Palin argued that the science of climate change is really just a plot to hurt oil companies. In fact, Palin has claimed that studies showing polar bears threatened by global warming are like “snake oil science.”  That is, those promoting polar bear listing simply want to shut down oil and gas leasing in Arctic coastal waters off Alaska.

“We knew the bottom line . . . was ultimately to shut down a lot of our development. And it didn’t make any sense because it was based on these global warming studies that now we’re seeing (is) a bunch of snake oil science.”

Sign the petition below insisting that Rush Limbaugh and Sara Palin stop denying the truth about global warming, and especially refrain from spreading conspiratorial lies.

* Carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere are currently the highest they have been in at least 800,000 years.

However, both of you continue to deny these and other facts.

Mr Limbaugh, you have said, "When I talk to people who believe in this global warming crap… it's fake science. They may have educations and degrees that say they are scientists, but they're not. They're political hacks and leftists.”

Speaking in Redding, CA, at the Sierra-Cascade Logging Conference, Mrs. Palin, you argued that the science of climate change is really just a plot to hurt oil companies. In fact, you even claimed that studies showing polar bears being threatened by global warming are like “snake oil science.” That is, those promoting polar bear listing simply want to shut down oil and gas leasing in Arctic coastal waters off Alaska.

You said, and I quote, “We knew the bottom line . . . was ultimately to shut down a lot of our development. And it didn’t make any sense because it was based on these global warming studies that now we’re seeing (is) a bunch of snake oil science.”

I insist that both of you stop denying the truth about global warming, and particularly refrain from spreading conspiratorial lies regarding the validity of the serious nature of global warming. Your adamant denial of such an environmental problem harms, rather then helps, combating it.

Sincerely,
