Demand That Congress Establish a 21+ National Age Limit for Gun Ownership in All 50 States

Demand That Congress Establish a 21+ National Age Limit for Gun Ownership in All 50 States
The Issue
You've seen the headlines: A 14-year-old shot up Apalachee High School and killed 4. A 16-year-old shot and killed a 15-year-old in a school bathroom in Maryland.
Clearly, teens are using guns to kill young people and others.
The US decided in the 70s/80s that drinking under 21 was too dangerous, so it changed the age to drink from 18 to 21.
After the rise of e-cigarettes and youth using them, the US decided in the late 2010s that cigarettes and ALL tobacco/smoking under 21 was too dangerous, so it also changed the age to smoke from 18 to 21.
Currently, the age to buy and own a weapon such as a gun in the US varies between no age required in some states (like in Georgia 🤦♂️), 18+, and 21+ in places like Massachusetts, which it should be nationwide.
If 20 or younger is too young to smoke (both tobacco and cannabis), drink, go to clubs/bars, gamble in a casino, and do other adult-only activities, then it should be too young to buy and own a lethal weapon.
ENOUGH of teens buying guns and shooting schools up, among other places.
It is BEYOND TIME to raise the age to own a gun/lethal weapon to 21+ IN ALL 50 US STATES.
NOBODY UNDER 21 SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO BUY & OWN A GUN IN ALL 50 US STATES. FULL STOP.
If we allow children to own lethal weapons at such young ages, it is inevitable that they will use them to go on a killing spree like the 14-year-old did in Georgia, especially if they are in depression or having other struggles.
Please sign this petition if you agree with me. This would be a huge part in reducing gun violence in the US without taking away people's rights (such as repealing the 2nd altogether, which may never happen), so you are saving kids' lives by signing this petition. Thank you so much for your support!
