For the past two years, we have endured the rudeness and unfair treatment from a teacher in Metairie, LA. This teacher has shown consistent bias against non-Hispanic students and has allowed her children to act without consequences. Our education and Well-fairness should not be hindered by such discriminatory behavior, and I believe that we should not be mistreated by her children and bullied by their words.

In a diverse society like ours, it is unacceptable for any educator or school worker to show favoritism based on ethnicity or personal relationships. According to the National Education Association, all students have a right to an education and to be treated free from discrimination (NEA). Yet this teacher/worker actions are creating an environment that is far from inclusive, and one that seems unsafe and unfair.

Furthermore, her blatant disregard for rules when it comes to her own children undermines the integrity of our educational system. The American Psychological Association states that favoritism can lead to low self-esteem and increased conflict among students (APA).

We are calling on our local school board in Metairie, LA to investigate these allegations thoroughly and take appropriate action - which could include termination if these allegations are substantiated.
