The Issue

The alarming rise of cyberbullying in schools has reached critical levels. Whilst advances in technology have brought about numerous benefits, they have also given birth to a new form of torment - cyberbullying. Studies show that 20% of adolescents in the U.S. have experienced cyberbullying in their lifetime (National Crime Victimization Survey). This form of harassment has serious implications on the mental health of young people, including anxiety, depression, and in severe cases, self-harm and suicidal ideation (US Department of Health & Human Services). We must take action now. By introducing stricter measures against cyberbullying in schools, we can provide our children with a safe learning environment. This includes proper education about the harmful effects of cyberbullying, reporting methods and firm punishments for offenders. We urge our local government bodies and educational institutions to prioritize this issue. Stand with us, sign this petition and help us end the blight of cyberbullying in our schools.
