As a parent of a special needs child, I believe it is everyone's responsibility to protect those among us who cannot protect themselves. This includes adults with mental health issues who do not have the ability to make safe and appropriate decisions. One particular person, Maggie Foster, a YouTuber frequently found sharing videos of harmful activities, poses an immediate threat to herself and others.
Maggie Foster lives on social media 24/7 and receives funding from social security.Claiming it isn’t enough, she goes online, panhandling and begging, and when her demands aren’t met, she will threaten, harass and fix anyone who doesn’t give her money. She has an immense amount of content others have saved showing her threatening to harm herself and others when they do not cash app her money for foods from DoorDash ,purchase Lyft rides, give money for bingo and concerts.She has even gone as far as stalking celebrities. She lives by herself and has recorded herself cooking rotting food, living in squalor and harassing elderly folk outside at convenient stores, airports, hotels etc. when they are minding their business, demanding they give her money or buy her food, donate just bc they have it and or she will put them online as a way of exposing them bc they refuse to help her.. She has recorded herself passing counterfeit bills the police and fire department have been dispatched to her home several times and nothing was done. Not only is she a threat to herself she is a threat to people around her circumference. This youTuber's actions not only endanger her life but influences impressionable audiences, potentially encouraging dangerous activities. She has the mind of a special needs 8year old, she is in her 40s and potentially poses danger of anyone who gets close to her.
According to a study by the National Institute of Mental Health, nearly 1 in 5 individuals suffer from a diagnosable mental illness. we need to show them that their well-being matters too. That's where the state can help. The state has an obligation to protect individuals with mental disabilities, either by providing caretakers or committing such individuals to a home where they can receive the necessary care and supervision. This is not a violation of their rights, rather a commitment to safeguard them. 
Through this petition, we aim to advocate for state intervention, demanding that they take swift action to mediate this specific situation and implement policies to prevent future similar cases. We request that they provide a caretaker for this individual, or if necessary, commit her to a care institution.
