The Issue
On a supposedly routine day, I entrusted the well-being of my beloved cat to Capital City Animal Hospital, specifically to Dr. Charles Esterly. What followed was a nightmare no pet owner should endure. My cat had undergone a standard spay surgery performed by Dr. Esterly, but soon after, she started to bleed excessively. Horrified and deeply worried, I reached out to the very clinic that was responsible for her condition, only to be reassured by Dr. Esterly that such bleeding was normal. Trusting his word, I became complacent for a few more dangerous hours, during which my cat's condition worsened.
Thankfully, instinct and concern prevailed, leading me to seek a second opinion. Another vet confirmed my fears: the surgery had been botched, and my cat was in dire need of immediate life-saving surgery that could have been avoided altogether. The emotional and financial toll has been immense, and it became glaringly clear to me that Dr. Esterly's negligence not only endangered my pet but might be a risk to many others.
I am not alone in this unfortunate incident. Numerous troubling reports and reviews have surfaced regarding Capital City Animal Hospital's handling of animal care, ranging from surgical incompetence and incorrect diagnoses to dismissive post-treatment responses. This pattern of negligence poses a significant threat to the animals in our community and demands urgent intervention.
In light of these repeated concerns, the Veterinary Medical Board must act decisively. Dr. Esterly's repeated mishandlings should not be treated as isolated cases but as evidence of a malpractice trend that requires urgent attention. The only way to prevent further harm is to hold the responsible parties accountable and ensure that there are no further victims of this negligence.
Therefore, I implore the Veterinary Medical Board to conduct a thorough investigation into Capital City Animal Hospital and the practices of Dr. Charles Esterly. They must take decisive action which could include shutting down the facility and revoking Dr. Esterly’s veterinary license.
Every pet deserves competent and compassionate medical care. We cannot stand by while further lives are put at risk due to preventable negligence. Join me in advocating for justice and safety by signing this petition today. Together, we can ensure that no other pet suffers from the incompetence that my beloved cat experienced.
