Amidst the soaring instances of sex trafficking in Florida, which grimly ranks as the number one state in this horrendous crime, we have found ourselves forced to advocate for the safety of our children. As residents of the Windermere apartment complex in Riverview, FL, we are deeply concerned about the perilous journey our children must take to reach their schools. Without adult supervision or a crossing guard along their route, every step they take is a risk.

For some parents, the stakes are even higher. To ensure their child's safety, they accompany them to school, leading to late arrivals at work, and in extreme cases, job loss due to the need to leave early. This is a burden no parent should bear.
