Demand that RSS, VHP, Bajrang Dal, Rashtriya Dalita Sena, Jonnavithula Ramalingeshwara Rao and other Hindu leaders/organisations associated with Hamara Prasad (Pandi Prasad) either publicly disown him and any material calling Dr. Babasaheb B.R. Ambedkar a “false leader” (Kalpitha Nayakudu), or own such content openly; and request the concerned police authorities to take legal action for defamation and insult to a national figure.

We, the undersigned, state:

There are serious public allegations that Hamara Prasad (Pandi Prasad) and/or individuals and organisations linked to him have been involved in the publication or promotion of material that labels Dr. B.R. Ambedkar  Babasaheb  a “Kalpitha Nayakudu” (false or fabricated leader).

Hamara Prasad, founder of the Hindutva organisation Rashtriya Dalita Sena, has a documented record of extreme public statements against Ambedkar.

In a 2023 video he stated that if he had been alive in Ambedkar’s time he would have shot him the way Nathuram Godse shot Gandhi, while holding a copy of Ambedkar’s Riddles in Hinduism. He was arrested by Hyderabad cyber crime police in connection with that video (FIR under IPC Sections 153A and 505(2)).

If any book, pamphlet or public material associated with him, his organisation, or with leaders who platform him makes this charge against Ambedkar, the matter cannot be brushed aside with silence or selective appropriation.

Therefore we demand clear public accountability from the organisational addressees:

RSS, VHP, Bajrang Dal, Rashtriya Dalita Sena, Jonnavithula Ramalingeshwara Rao and every Hindu leader or organisation that has associated with, platformed, or politically used Hamara Prasad must either:

Publicly and unequivocally disown him, distance themselves from any such book or material, and explain their earlier association;

or

Publicly own the book (or material), state that they approve of its content, and stand by the claim that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was a “false leader.”

Silence is not neutrality. Using a figure for messaging among specific constituencies while allowing or ignoring attacks on Ambedkar’s intellectual and moral stature is opportunistic.

Request for legal action by police authorities

We further request the Director General of Police / Director and Inspector General of Police, Telangana, and the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad (and the officers having jurisdiction over the residence and activities of Hamara Prasad) to:

Take cognizance of this complaint;

Register and investigate appropriate cases for defamation, promoting enmity, statements conducing to public mischief, and insult to a national figure of the stature of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar;

Examine any book, video, social-media content or other publication associated with Hamara Prasad or Rashtriya Dalita Sena that describes Ambedkar as a “false leader” (Kalpitha Nayakudu) or otherwise denigrates him;

Take all lawful steps to prevent further circulation of such material and to enforce the law without fear or favour.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar is not merely a community icon; he is a national figure principal architect of the Constitution of India, scholar of international standing, and a foundational contributor to the modern Indian republic. Public campaigns or publications that label him a false leader warrant serious examination under the law.

On the stature of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar that makes such attacks indefensible

Babasaheb Ambedkar was one of the most rigorously educated and intellectually accomplished figures in modern Indian history. He earned degrees from Columbia University (including a PhD) and the London School of Economics, was called to the Bar at Gray’s Inn, and produced scholarly work in economics, law, political theory and sociology that continues to be cited internationally.

 His analysis of caste, his comparative study of constitutional systems, and his writings on democracy, federalism and social equality place him among the significant political thinkers of the 20th century.

He chaired the Drafting Committee of the Constitution of India and shaped its fundamental architecture of rights, equality before the law, abolition of untouchability, and protections for the historically oppressed.

He fought for the political representation and dignity of the depressed classes when few others with power did so consistently. He converted to Buddhism as a conscious rejection of a social order he judged irredeemably hierarchical, and he left behind a body of writing that remains a primary resource for scholars of inequality, constitutionalism and social justice worldwide.

His contemporary relevance is not sentimental. Debates on reservation, representation, the relationship between formal democracy and social hierarchy, the limits of majoritarianism, and the meaning of fraternity in a deeply unequal society still turn on questions he posed with precision. Ignoring or denigrating that intellectual legacy while simultaneously attempting to claim his symbolic value for political purposes is incoherent.

Call-out

Certain Hindu leaders and organisations associated with Hamara Prasad have treated him as a disposable condom instrument useful when convenient for messaging among specific constituencies, discardable when the cost of association rises.

This is the political equivalent of using a person as a condom: temporary utility followed by disposal. If the association was principled, then own the content of any book or campaign that calls Ambedkar a false leader. If it was not, then disown him clearly and explain why the association occurred in the first place.

We therefore demand for:

Immediate public statements from RSS, VHP, Bajrang Dal, Rashtriya Dalita Sena, Jonnavithula Ramalingeshwara Rao and other associated leaders/organisations clarifying their position on Hamara Prasad and on any material that describes Ambedkar as a “Kalpitha Nayakudu.”

Either a complete and unambiguous disavowal, or an open defence and ownership of the content.

Prompt legal examination and appropriate action by the Director General of Police / Director and Inspector General of Police, Telangana, and the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad (and concerned jurisdictional officers) against any defamatory or insulting material targeting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

An end to the practice of selective appropriation of Ambedkar’s name and image while tolerating or enabling attacks on his intellectual and historical standing.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s record as a scholar, constitution-maker and social democrat does not require myth-making. It stands on documented achievement. Those who wish to attack it should do so in the open and face the legal consequences; those who wish to use his name should not do so while shielding or platforming those who seek to diminish him.
