Demand Restitution for Survivor Sarah Collins Rudolph

Demand Restitution for Survivor Sarah Collins Rudolph
The Issue
Sarah Collins Rudolph was only 12 years old when she survived the horrific 1963 bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. This act of domestic terrorism, orchestrated by white supremacists, tragically took the lives of four little girls, including Sarah’s sister, Addie Mae Collins. Sarah was left permanently scarred—losing an eye and suffering life-altering injuries that have never been properly acknowledged through compensation by the state of Alabama or the United States government.
Despite the emotional and physical trauma she endured, Sarah Collins Rudolph has never received formal restitution, medical support, or financial compensation for the injustices she suffered. It is time for the state of Alabama and the federal government to take responsibility and provide long-overdue restitution for her suffering.
We demand:
Financial Restitution: The state of Alabama and the federal government must allocate compensation to Sarah Collins Rudolph for the decades of injustice and suffering she has endured.
Medical Assistance: Coverage for past and ongoing medical expenses related to injuries sustained in the bombing.
Public Acknowledgment: A formal apology from the state of Alabama and the U.S. government recognizing their failure to provide justice and reparations sooner.
Why is this important?
The 16th Street Baptist Church bombing was a defining moment in the Civil Rights Movement, exposing the deep racial hatred and systemic oppression that plagued America. While history remembers the four girls who lost their lives, the fifth little girl, Sarah Collins Rudolph, has been overlooked in receiving justice. This petition seeks to correct that injustice and ensure that Sarah receives the restitution she rightfully deserves.
Sign this petition to call on the state of Alabama and the United States government to take immediate action in granting restitution to Sarah Collins Rudolph.
Justice delayed is justice denied. Stand with Sarah. Sign today.
